The KUAF KIDS Radio Program:
This year KUAF public radio accompanied the KIDS staff and fellows into J.O. Kelly Middle School in Springdale. Students in John Lilly’s 6th grade science class were asked to formulate one science question.
A KUAF representative was on hand to record those questions.
Three fellows were each asked to respond to two of the student questions.
The fellows had their answers recorded at the University of Arkansas KUAF facility.
Persons throughout the Northwest Arkansas area will be able to listen to the student’s questions as well as the immediate feedback provided by the fellows.
The final product, that will include the fellows,
middle school students and the KIDS staff, will be part of Ozarks at Large,
a weekly radio program that covers a wide array of topics in the Northwest Arkansas Community.
For the 2005/2006 year KUAF will not only visit several more GK-12 schools in the Northwest Arkansas area,
but will also be present during the KIDS mall day to record reactions by the children, adults, and community members.
Those comments will be added to the Ozarks at Large segment.
